
10 July 2020, Мykolaiv, Ukraine. – “Sea special port NIKA-TERA”, which is a part of Group DF, in 2019/2020 marketing year (1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020) processed 6,4 M tons of agricultural cargo (which is by 20% more than in 2018/2019 marketing year). The growth was possible due to the increase of transshipment volume of such crops as: barley (+141%), wheat (+51%) and grist (+42%). Besides, the port started working with such oil crop as rapeseed.
Traditionally in the structure of transshipment of grains, legumes and oilseed crops, as well as derived products the majority was constituted by wheat and maize.
“In the previous marketing year we have improved the technology of off-shore unloading for ships of Panamax type. Therefore, during the respective period of time 20 out of 26 loaded Panamax ships were additionally loaded off-shore in the port. Besides additional loading of large cargo carriers with grain and grits, this year we did off-shore loading of sunflower oil for the first time. A few carriers have been additionally loaded in this way,” – mentioned Alim Ahakishyiev, Director of NІКА–ТЕRА port.
Totally in 2019/2020 marketing year the port processed 263 ships with grain, legumes and oil cargo, as well as derived products. The number of Panamax ships increased by over 3 times in comparison with the previous period.
Marketing year in Ukraine for some types of crops is the period of time from July of this year till June if the next year, for instance 2019-2020 marketing year is the period of time from 1 July 2019 till 30 June 2020.
At the end of May 2020 NІКА-ТЕRА port finished another stage of modernization of the second cargo district that specializes mostly on storage and transshipping of agricultural cargo. In particular, construction of a modern weighing and mooring complex that consists of two operation lines was finished. Maximum capacity of each line is up to 1800 m3/h.
The port includes 4 specialized complexes (cargo districts): grain complex, complex for grain, grit and mineral fertilizers transshipping, complex for transshipment of bulk cargo and open storage and packaged cargo, as well as a complex for transshipment of liquid cargo.

NIKA-TERA (Mykolaiv, Ukraine) is a modern highly mechanized sea port that is a part of port business of Group DF.
The port is located in Mykolaiv oblast near the Black Sea (on the left bank of Buh estuary) and has 8 commercial moorages. The territory of the port lies close to railway station “Zhovtneva” which ensures convenient logistics for counteragents of the port.
From autumn 2011 the terminal is a part of Group DF,which has invested over 1,5 B hryvnas in port development. The investments allowed the company to increase its capacity greatly, the capacity of grain storage facilities has grown from 40 to 300 thousand tons. At present the capacity of grain storage is up to 515 thousand tons. The largest projects are building of a modern grain storage of silo type, building of own railway complex and opening of liquid cargo transshipment complex.
In 2019 the terminal accommodated 410 vessels, having unloaded 8,637 M tons of cargo. Compared to 2018 the increase made up 2,8 M tons or 48%. The structure of cargo turnover in 2019 looked in the following way: grain, legumes and oil cargo made up over 5,9 M tons or 69% of the total volume, bulk cargo – 1,7M tons (19,7%), grits and cereals – 772,5 thousand tons (8,9%), liquid – 204, 7 thousand tons (2,4%).
Total amount of workers is around 1300 people.
