It was possible to achieve such great numbers after a big shipment of sunflower grits from KERNEL was sent to Chinese market.
18 June 2020, Mykolaiv, Ukraine. – Sea special port NIKA-TERA, which is a part of Group DF, processed over 3 M tons of cargo from the beginning of 2020.
Аlim Ahakishiiev, Director of NIKA-TERA told about it.
“In spite of all changes that occurred due to global economic recession caused by Сovid-19, production indicators of our company remained on the level of previous year, – said Alim Ahakishiiev. – After the shipment of sunflower grits, which is exported by our client Kernel, was successfully loaded and sent to Chinese market, we reached the volume of transshipment amounting to 3 M tons.”
Loading of cargo carrier of Panamax type “TRANSCENDEN BRIGHT” was held in 2 stages. At first 47,5 thousand tons of sunflower grits were loaded, and then 15,5 thousand tons were additionally loaded off-shore.
During processing of cargo the advanced technology was used, when sunflower grits were simultaneously loaded by two loading machines on two moorages of the second cargo district. A modern loading and mooring complex was used.
“Agricultural clients are the main for us. We prepared port facilities in time for a new season, having made all the necessary repairs and modernization of moorages, having improved loading and unloading processes. Now the port has started to receive the first shipments of grain from a new harvest”, – mentioned Alim Ahakishiiev.
At the end of May 2020 NІКА-ТЕRА port finished another stage of modernization of the second cargo district that specializes mostly on storage and transshipping of agricultural cargo. In particular, construction of a modern weighing and mooring complex that consists of two operation lines was finished. Maximum capacity of each line is up to 1800 m3/h. Modernization of the second cargo district allowed to increase greatly the traffic capacity of the port, and the potential of the port in general. Investments in modernization of cargo district 2 exceeded over 40 M hryvnas. Construction of a weighing complex is a part of a large-scale program of technical re-equipment of loading districts of the port.
The port includes 4 specialized complexes (cargo districts): grain complex, complex for grain, grit and mineral fertilizers transshipping, complex for transshipment of bulk cargo and open storage and packaged cargo, as well as a complex for transshipment of liquid cargo.
According to results of the 1st quarter of 2020 cargo turnover of the port made up 1,87 M tons of cargo (it is by 1,5% more than the result of the same period in 2019).

NIKA-TERA (Mykolaiv, Ukraine) is a modern highly mechanized sea port that is a part of port business of Group DF.
The port is located in Mykolaiv oblast near the Black Sea (on the left bank of Buh estuary) and has 8 commercial moorages. The territory of the port lies close to railway station “Zhovtneva” which ensures convenient logistics for counteragents of the port.
From autumn 2011 the terminal is a part of Group DF,which has invested over 1,5 B hryvnas in port development. The investments allowed the company to increase its capacity greatly, the capacity of grain storage facilities has grown from 40 to 300 thousand tons. In 2019 the terminal accommodated 410 vessels, having unloaded 8,637 M tons of cargo. Compared to 2018 the increase made up 2,8 M tons or 48%. The structure of cargo turnover in 2019 looked in the following way: grain, legumes and oil cargo made up over 5,9 M tons or 69% of the total volume, bulk cargo – 1,7M tons (19,7%), grits and cereals – 772,5 thousand tons (8,9%), liquid – 204, 7 thousand tons (2,4%).
Total amount of workers is around 1300 people.
